I emailed another one my teachers a couple days ago and finally got a response. Many of the things she said in regards to her pay and reactions to students went in line with what the first teacher said. She could live off of the pay by herself, but since she has a family it is good that she is married to a working man. The vacation hours are nice for her, too, being a mother of two. She also said that kids are the best part of the job, even though some of the obnoxious comments get to her, she remains detached and gets the job done. All in all, 2 out of 3 teachers have said that teaching is a rewarding career. The remaining teacher is an isolated example, I believe, because he said that he still enjoys working with kids but that many things are adding up to make his job unenjoyable. This could be a result of many years of teaching finally taking its toll. So many variables could be adding up, one may never know why this one exception exists. Only more research can tell.
